Previous Re-Roof of a GAF 3-Tab Shingle This was a 9 year old roof in very bad condition. The owner had no real choice but to replace this roof. The owner requested the most economical shingle roof system. There was substantial wood rot at all valleys and returns. This was mainly because the previous roofer didn't wrap the returns properly, by not using plastic cement with membrane. There are many techinics needed to properly install a roof system. After the wood was replaced we installed felt paper and mechanically attached to Miami-Dade County Codes. We then installed the valley metal properly with plastic cement and membrane. We then installed a GAF 3 Tab Shingle System with a 20 year warranty. This GAF 3-Tab Shingle also has a moldicide sealer to stop mold growth.
